Poet's Corner

To my Dad

I know my dad loves me very much,
I have grown up with his sweet touch.
His hand is always on my shoulder,
Saying to me, “Do it, you can be a fate moulder”.
He says that I can go to he sky,
As he is my wings and he’ll take me high.
He says that I need not fear the time,
As he’ll put himself into the stone mill to grind.
When I say to him I’m going out to dine,
He looks at the clock and says come at nine.
He always asks me, “Have you some money?”
When I say, “No”, he says his pocket is mine.
When I say in illness “I’m going to die,”
He says, “your palm hasn’t got such a line.”

Tortured souls

We are tortured souls
Teacher treat us like shoe soles
They think we are animals
As if escaped criminals
One day we asked about our trip
They said forget about it.
We would stand for our rights
And try with all our might
But can we overcome
And make this slavery undone
Daily homework kills us
Does anyone care about us?
Hunched under thick books
With teachers giving us cruel looks
Oh! we dear tortured souls
But one day we would achieve our goals
We would overcome the odds
To be greeted by applaud
One day it’s going to be over
The rule would turn over
Then they could try
To make us cry
But the tortured souls
Would have then achieved their goals.

My country, my love

The dream which was once our destiny
Was the result of our unity
The strong faith in God Brought into being something to feel proud of
The name which came in the history
And shone on the map as a victory
People living here call it their motherland
After thousands of sacrifices it came in their hands
Kites in basant cheer all the sad sails
At present it plays in the world a model role
Struggling as an independent nation
Thousands of people with lots of patience
Another wish that has to be true
Now rule the world as its crew
The land of peace and joy
Which every boy and girl enjoy
From NWFP to Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan
The name which echoes is Pakistan Pakistan.

Why?

Why do we get bored?
Why does the electricity go away?
Why do people get old?
Why June comes after May?
Why do we have to study physics?
Even though there is no implementation.
Why this world has attraction in it?
Which separates us from our goal, our target
Why some people are heartless?
Though Allah has given heart to everybody
Why an ocean is powerful than a drop of water?
Though they are of the same kind
Why poor people are shunned?
Can anybody answer my questions?

Pakistan has pollution

Pakistan has pollution
Find a solution
To this dirty pollution
Air is filled with smoke
Wash your hands with soap
Make Pakistan green
With lots of stream
Water is polluted
The fishes are dying
Sea animals are crying
Garbage is everywhere
Smoke is on your daily wear
This problem is aggravating
Our health is deteriorating.
