Cake

I love to eat cakes
Which my mom bakes
My mom puts the plate
So I don’t get late
I eat some food
Then I eat so many cakes
Which my mom bakes.

An ode to the luminous one

Thou art indeed the blazing Red Ball in the sky,
That gives life to the green thicket hereby.
Thy rays fall upon the twinkling diamonds,
And on the moon, that shimmers nearby.
In winter the sun’s scorch lessens,
But thy warmth always caresses by.
Thy rays embrace me and clasp my hand by and by.
They intend to tell me oh beloved thou art very sly.
Thine I shall be till eternity so sense my petty sigh,
Render me a favour dear, let not my body turn cold
When I die!

The summer

Very bright
The shinning sun
Such a beautiful sight
People going out for a run
Flowers making the world so colourful
Really enjoying the waves and the seaside
People lying down and just relaxing
Fantastic time at the beach
The green pretty trees
Such an attraction
The summer is amazing

My world is...

My world is like a flower,
With which petals of happiness are attached.
My world is like a candle,
On which flame of hope is lighted up.
My world is like a park,
In which swings for enjoyment are present.
My world is like a torch,
Which gives light of good deeds.
My world is like a river,
Which flows with the hope of tomorrow.
My world is like a tree,
Which give shade of love.
My world is like a family,
In which all the members are happy.
My world is like a brain,
In which good thought always remain.
My world is like a rose,
By smelling which freshness arose.
And I have no wish to go to Pluto or Mars,
Because my world is better than Pluto or Mars.

Nature

I love to go out
To see the world out
I like to see the birds and trees
Which make me feel quite pleased
I love to take photos of nature
It’s so nice to see
It’s so beautiful to see
How wonderful nature is
And how graceful it is
I simply love it the way it is.

You never knew

You never knew how much I loved you
You never knew how much I cared
You never knew the tears I cried
Or what my heart feared
You never heard the cry
Which came from deep inside me
Then why did I try so hard to make you mine
When I knew you can never be
You never thought
My love as true
While I kept on saying
I love you, I love you
You never tried to understand my love
And kept on ignoring me
While I was busy to open your heart’s door
But couldn’t found the key
You never tested my love
Even the death I could have dared
But you seemed so mean
That you never cared.

Oil spill

To the number of fish way do we cause reduction
And to the sea why do we cause destruction
The fish like their home to be clean
So why are we mean?
By killing them
We kill ourselves
Eating fish has been banned
Just because of our own hands.

Gift

God made sunshine, God made sand
God made oceans, God made lands
God made mountains, God made snow
God made all, the rivers flow
He filled the world with love and peace
And all the blessings that we need
God is very kind indeed
Thank you God for blessings we heed.

Turn off the TV!

My father gets quite mad at me;
My mother gets upset —
When they catch me watching
Our new television set.
My father yells, “Turn that thing off!”
Mom says, “It’s time to study”.
I’d rather watch my favourite TV show
With my best buddy.
I sneak down after homework
And turn the set on low.
But when she sees me watching it,
My mom yells out, “No!”
Dad says, “If you don’t turn it off,
I’ll hang it from a tree!”
I rather doubt he’ll do it,
‘cause he watches more thy me.
He watches sports all weekend,
And weekday evening too,
While munching chips and peanuts
The room looks like a zoo.
So if he ever got the nerve
To hang it form a tree,
He’d spend a lot of time up there —
Watching it with me.

MAIRAH,
Hyderabad
