Miscellanea: Promoting tourism
As part of promotion of tourism in Pakistan, Karachi will be celebrating the Tourism Year Karachi 2004 from January 1 to December 31, 2004. Its main objective is to spotlight Pakistan in general and Karachi in particular and promote environmental awareness, trade links and cultural heritage particularly in the countries that will be participating in specially organized trade exhibitions and cultural and environmental programmes as an exciting new tourist destination in Karachi.
This event is being organized in association with NGO SOME (Save Our Mother Earth!) which at the moment is looking for students who are willing to volunteer as website engineers and graphic designers to design the website for the Tourism Year Karachi 2004.
The volunteers will be issued a special certificate from both SOME and the Sind Tourism and Cultural Archives and will be entitled for free passes for special events being organized in lieu to it.
