Once upon a time, in a small cottage lived a husband and a wife. The wife had a pet cat called Baby and the husband had a pet dog called Stoop. They both loved their pets, but since the couple was poor they were unable to keep both the pets. They could only afford one so they constantly fought on which animal to keep. The wife wanted to keep Baby, the cat, and the husband wanted to keep Stoop, the dog. And so these fights continued.
The wife thought that cats were caring and loving creatures and since the wife liked to be cared and loved, she thought that Baby was the right option. However, the husband felt that dogs were man’s best friends and that they were faithful and guarded the family against dangers. Their arguments failed to satisfy each other. They accused each other’s pets of stealing food from the kitchen. The wife would say that Stoop steals food from the kitchen, whereas the husband would vow to have seen Baby run off with the food.
But little did they know that there was something peculiar about both the pets. They were not loving or caring, neither were they faithful nor guardians of the family. They only wanted food to satisfy their stomachs. All day long and all night through they only thought of how to grab extra food from the kitchen, thereby leaving very less for their masters to feed on. Baby and Stoop both being very greedy did not deserve to be the pets of this innocent couple who always thought that their pets were the best pets any one could ever have..
Now there was a hole inside the cottage and in that hole resided a little mouse, whom we’ll call Cutie. That mouse had become a nuisance for the family and whenever Baby and Stoop saw it, they would run after it like mad, breaking the things around. But they never got their hands on it. When the husband and the wife could not beat each other in the discussions against each others pet, they decided that who ever caught the mouse would be the pet of the house and the other one would have to leave.
Baby and Stoop started their mission but the mouse was too fast and flexible for the two lazy pets, so they both failed. The husband and the wife both enjoyed the dog, cat and the little mouse chase. They were enthralled by the tricks of the little mouse and secretly started admiring Cutie. One day they both caught Baby and Stoop stealing food from the kitchen. At this both Stoop and Baby were thrown out of the cottage and the husband and the wife took a new pet.
It was faithful, loving and caring and guarded the house from greedy Stoop and Baby. It amused the couple with its wonderful tricks and also consumed far less food than the previous pets. Yes! you ‘ve guessed right. It was the little mouse, Cutie. From that day onwards, the husband and the wife and their pet Cutie lived happily ever after.
