The moon has been openly eying me for the past half-hour and I expect it will carry on for another 10 minutes. Its gleaming whiteness stood defiant to the darkness once, but now it is quickly descending and losing its colour to a pale brown.
The silhouettes of the trees are only a couple of inches beneath, in which the birds are the first to hum their tales to the world of those who listen. They would say an adieu to the Moon in an honourable manner of welcoming the Sun, which of course fails to give some time to allow for the Moon to complete its round. The Moon hides within the land it overlooked last night. The Moon’s late arrival was of little concern to the Sun. The days gained brightness and the nights lost time; a sign for those who perceive.
The Moon is almost out of sight. It managed not to reach the horizon, even though in a rush, therefore it had to make do with the trees for its final location. The mysterious darkness loses its impact. The lighter and cooler hues take over the sky, letting the morning due fall from within them.
A swallow quickly informs the cuckoo of the altered backdrop. No one knows until the last moment arrives. That is what makes each day so special.
The squirrels and other small animals slowly come to life and wait for the majestic entry of the Sun. It passes over the horizon behind the trees and houses and illuminates the clouds in a lovely purple. The robin spreads out its wings and flies with pride, laying out the red carpet; it gives way to orange. Spills of yellow surpass the warmer tints of light and ooze from all sides of the Sun. It is time for the Sun to be fully adored. The onlookers, ranging from trees and shrubs to the petals of the flowers, all bathe in dew in the cold morning wind, joyfully. They cheer in hymns and songs of praise; thankful of another chance.
Nature greets the earth in a delightful manner full of warmth and affection. As the beasts rise to head for a new day, I opt for a wink of sleep. Hopefully I will awaken tonight. So if from the corner of my eye I see the moon peeking at my work, I can push myself to stay up a little longer and see what makes tomorrow special.
