Shapes

I am a circle round like a pie.
I am a triangle, three sides have I.
I am a square, my sides are four.
I am a rectangle, shaped like a door.

I wish I could fly

As I see birds in the sky
I wish I could fly
Above the mountains high
Like the stars in the sky
I always wonder with a cry
Why I cannot fly?
I see the birds free in the air
Looking at the sea and the ground
Roaming here and there
To the springs with the breeze in the air
On wonder how it feels to be in flight
And view things down below
I only have my thoughts
And I wish I could fly.

We can make a difference

Why not stop our everyday fights?
Why not live like brothers?
Why not give everyone their rights?
Why not think about others?
We don’t have a life of peace,
Why not let the problems decrease?
There is a poor named success
Why not like a life of bliss?
We, the young generation,
Are the future of our nation
Why not solve the problems of transportation?
And that of education?
For the problems we are responsible
But if we try, everything’s possible
So why not stop being disaster creators?
Why not try to be peace makers?
We can make our future better,
Then why not stand together?
Of the future we’re the light
This is the right time to unite!
Why not do what we should?
Between us establish brotherhood
All the taxes should be paid
And every law to be obeyed
Why not help the poor in need?
Why not give up our selfishness and greed?
Why not maintain discipline and faith
For we have time, it’s not yet late.

Now isn’t it amazing

Now isn’t it amazing that flowers grow
On the ground with different colours
Now isn’t it amazing that Allah has created
The beautiful capabilities
Now isn’t it amazing that we are
In different country with great will power
Now isn’t it amazing that we are
True Muslim with strong faith.

Thank you, my friend!

I’m so cold and lonely,
Because I am alone to go through it all,
To rise high and then tall.
Wish you were here,
Blowing away all my fear,
Because If I ever lost you,
I’d lose control.
Thank you for being my friend,
Thank you for being the helping hand.

ALYZEH RIZVI

Peace

Peace, peace, peace
Please give me peace
I am sick of war
No matter what happens
Please don’t use weapons
Sky is crying
Earth is lying
Muslims are trying
Kids are praying
Every one is saying stop the war
War is not a solution
It causes destruction
It destroys a nation
But always keep in your mind
That peace is the best solution.

ANUM JAVED,

Here is He!

Do you know
When you are alone,
There seems to be nobody around you,
But “Here is He”
Who tries to keep you glee,
He is the closest friend of us,
Having no greed, keeping no curse,
We can’t even see ‘Him’,
But He is the base of humans,
He is our great Allah,
No one else than mighty Allah!

Summer days

We love summer days
As we get long holidays
We experience burning heat
And like showers of water, to beat
We enjoy cones of ice-cream
As the sun puffs out steam
Sky is cast with heavy cloud
Flashes of light and thunders, loud
We get lots of rain
With streams of water in every lane
Rainbow colours appear in the sky
They look so beautiful to the eye

AMNA NIAZ,
11 years, Islamabad
