MUSIC: International superhits

By Nabeel Farooqui

As the punk cult started to grow, many bands seemed to come up with energized soundtracks that fall under the genre of alternative rock, which is most sought after hard rock. Bands such as Green Day are liked a great deal. Billie Joe (lead/vocals), Mike Dirnt (bass/ vocals) and Tre’ Cool (drums) have come up with their new album International Superhits, which contain all the hit numbers from all their previous albums.

The album opens up with Maria and is a terrific combination of bass and leads. Then comes Poprocks & Coke and Longview, which have the potential to make you spin around with superb lyrics. Off beat mainstream numbers such as Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life), Brain Stew and Macy’s Day Parade are just perfect even with Billie’s shrill voice. Some songs such as Welcome To Paradise, Stuck With Me, Jaded and J.A.R are extremely moving. This is not the end of the album, besides this, the CD has to offer Twenty-one other splendid numbers as well. Green Day has come up with all their charismatic super hits that are really moving and outstanding.

If you feel that you have a passion for non-stop pop-punk music then Green Day is the ultimate gift that will bring you immense joy.
