Thirty-year-old Amna was at home with her four children, Sara (4), Hadia (6), Raza (8) and Haroon (10). Her husband, an architect was out of town for a conference. Though she worked as a manager in a computer firm, she had taken the day off as she planned to go shopping with her friend Saima. She was ready and waiting for Saima to pick her up when the doorbell rang. Assuming that Saima had arrived she picked up her keys and went out to answer the door. As she opened the door, to her surprise, a man in a black coat stood in front of her, his face was covered with a black scarf. He took out his dagger and pointing it towards Amina forced her back in the house and ordered her to give him the keys of the lockers. Amina was frightened and worried about her kids. Sara who was the youngest started to cry. Amina instructed her children to stay close beside her.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Surprised, the thief told Amina to open the door. He also warned that if Amina tried any tactics he would shoot Haroon, her eldest son. Amina answered the door and this time it was Saima. Amina tried to give her a hint that they were in trouble yet Saima failed to understand. As she came in, the thief emerged from the bedroom door and pointed the dagger at her and ordered her to handover all that she had in the purse. Saima was very frightened and hurriedly gave him everything. Now the thief tied up the two women but did not bother about the kids as he thought that they were too young to create any trouble.
Little did the thief know that these children would come up with a plan that would leave him astounded? Left unguarded, Haroon decided to do something. As he feared that the thief had a companion outside to keep watch he could not go outside or yell for help. They had to act silently. So he told Raza to bring some glue, flour and pepper. Then he told Hadia to bring a rope. With the help of these things and making use of his genius Haroon set up a trap.
He tied the rope between the stairs so that when the thief would go up the stairs he would slip and the rope attached to the bottle of super glue would fall on to the his head. Raza, from the other end, would pull the sack of flour, which would also come down on him. Hadia will then turn on the hair drier and put pepper in front of it, this would enter the thief’s eyes leaving him unable to see. Sara was assigned the job of fooling the thief and telling him that the money was lying in the closet upstairs. As soon as she had completed the assigned task she ran upstairs to tell Haroon and the others to be ready.
Saima and Amina were wondering what the little children were up to, and were shocked to hear the thief scream out in disgust. To their utter surprise Haroon and the other children had managed to tie the thief’s hands and legs with the rope. After this they untied Amina and Saima, who kissed the little ones who saved their lives. They then called the police who were surprised by the bravery of these kids. After the commotion had settled, there was another knock at the door. Amina opened the door suspiciously, but was relieved to find her husband there. The kids shouted out with joy and narrated the whole story to him. Their father was extremely proud to have such brave little children.
