Disney has churned out great cartoons in recent years. These cartoons have proved to be really endearing and children not only idolize their protagonists but also love them. Be it Aladdin, Simba, Ariel, Cinderella or Lilo, the vast assortment of charming characters has won the hearts of kids across the length and breadth of the entire globe. The most recent addition to this valuable collection is Treasure Planet and trust me, you won’t be a tad disappointed by this animated flick.
Treasure Planet is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s much-admired book Treasure Island. But while the plot bears resemblance to Treasure Island, many details have been tailored to lace the movie with an ultramodern touch.
Jim Hawkins is a boy with a fidgety and inattentive spirit. His mother runs an inn and is incessantly disconcerted by Jim’s breach of the law and his disregard for rules and ropes of modern society. They are leading “almost” normal lives until a chain of startling events leads Jim Hawkins to embark on the most exhilarating and audacious journey of his life. Aboard a space galleon, Jim heads towards Treasure Planet, a legendary world rumoured to possess riches of unfathomable magnitude. Along the way, the crew of the ship battles celestial forces including black holes and ruthless space storms. Jim develops an intimate friendship with the ship’s cook, John Silver, but he has dastardly motives that Jim isn’t aware of.
Interwoven is a tale of mutiny on board the ship that leads Jim to rely on his wits to weather the storm at hand.
The graphics of the cartoons are impressive as well, that will bedazzle and nonplus you every step of the way. So, don’t miss Treasure Planet at any cost.
