Hi kids!

It’s sizzling out here in Karachi, while only a few days ago we were told that the temperature is dropping in Quetta and winter is returning. Strange, isn’t it? So much variation in temperature within the country as if it’s not two parts of the same country but two hemispheres. If you ask the environmentalists they would blame global warming for this intense difference in temperature.

Global warming or whatever, the world’s climate is really changing. If we check the records we would see that Karachi was not as hot at the beginning of April some 20-25 years ago. But now it’s so hot you can’t think of going outdoors in the afternoon. One just feel like switching on the air conditioner and forgetting about the world outside. But no, even that’s not possible here. I tried doing that but the God-fearing people at the KESC will not allow me to forget those who are not fortunate enough to have air conditioned offices or those who do not work in offices but out in the open, under the sky. So they just switch off the electricity from time to time. Once when the heat inside became unbearable I went outside for a breath of fresh air. It was then that I thanked my stars and offered a silent prayer that I am fortunate enough to obliterate the heat artificially and spend most of my day away from the sizzling sun.

I realized that we take many things, specially our good fortune, for granted. That’s not right! We should be thankful to God who gave us the means to make our lives easier. And perhaps the best way to do so is to remember Him at all times and follow the path that He has prescribed.
May God bless you and shower His blessings on you!
See you next week!
Bye!
Ed
