MOVIE: Mr deeds
Mr Deeds — is a hilarious remake of the classical American comedy Mr Deeds goes to town. In this film Adam Sandler plays the role of a small town guy, called Longfellow Deeds. He comes to New York to collect a 40 billion dollar inheritance from a long lost uncle and lives in a mansion with many servants including a personal butler (John Turturro). Here he meets a beautiful school nurse (Winona Ryder) and falls in love with her. However, little does he know that his sweetie is, in fact, a journalist who is reporting on his behaviour.
In addition to this, his uncle’s company is in doldrums and is about to be sold. Now it’s time for Deeds to come in action and solve the problems that afflict both his personal and professional fronts.
The movie also stars great tennis legend John Macenroe, who appears for the first time in a Hollywood movie. After Sandler’s outrageously funny Big Daddy, Mr Deeds is a bit of an anti-climax. Nonetheless, it is a highly entertaining family movie.
