Dear Super Sis,
I used to chat with a guy who lives in Karachi. While chatting we became very close friends. We shared lots of secrets and we fell in love too. But when we met he broke up our friendship, only because I am not beautiful. I am so hurt. I wanted to commit suicide, and have no desire left to live, but I have to live for my parents. Tell me, what can an ugly person do? What can I do to make myself attractive? This world is not for us — we are aliens. Why has God made ugly things, if there is no place for them in this world?

Don’t lose faith in life and in yourself because of this one bad experience. Brush the boy aside as he lacks depth and decency. People can be ugly on the inside, and that might reflect on their countenance on the outside, but there is no such thing as an ugly person. Everyone has at least one beautiful feature present: good skin, long lashes, fine nose, etc. It’s very easy to bring that feature to prominence while enhancing the rest of one’s appearance. You could even consult a good stylist for a makeover, if it is so important to you.
Dear Super Sis
I will soon have vacations for a month, during which my mother wants me to take Ikebana or cooking classes, but I’m not interested. I want to grow tall and so want to take part in some kind of sport that would help me grow taller. Can you tell me where I can get admission for such classes?

If you want to join a sports club, go through the advertisements in the newspaper, specially the weekend advertiser, to find one that suits your needs. Most clubs allow a month entrance fee without the requisite membership.
