Recipe: Snack time


 

Egg cake


Ingredients

2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cup vanilla essence
2 eggs


Method
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Add shortening and a little over half of the milk mixed with vanilla essence. Beat in a mixer at medium speed for about two minutes. Add the remaining milk and unbeaten eggs. Again beat for about two minutes at medium speed. Now pour your batter into a well greased pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes.

Plain Biscuits


Ingredients

1 egg
1cup ghee or margarine
1 cup castor sugar
2 cup flour
1/2 table spoon baking powder.


Method

Mix ghee or margarine, egg and castor sugar and beat it. Mix baking powder and flour separately and pour it into the mixture of margarine, egg and sugar and beat thoroughly. After a smooth paste of the mixture is ready cut out shapes. Place on a greased (with ghee) tray and bake at 120 degrees for 20 minutes.
