Poet's Corner

The Quaid

With sparkling eyes and a shinning smile
With a heart so strong and mettle so high
That was a lawyer not a critic
That was a leader with a wit
The time when Muslims were in a cage
When they had no way to escape
He arose with the power of belief
Along his nouns for their relief
He took the liability of getting them freedom
Of making them strong and able to flee
He recognized Muslims as a nation
Thus making a path for rehabilitation
It was he who burnt the midnight oil
It was he who never turned tail
Unity, faith and discipline was his emblem
Fighting to the bitter end was his real aim
We’re lucky to follow his stride
It is a matter of great pride.

SANA ABRAR

Just wanted to say...

I wish you could feel the way I do
Troubling emotions they’re all so true
I wish I could express myself to you
Show you my tears falling for you
People who care for you may be few
Don’t forget that I care the most amongst those few
The evening sky, oh what a wonderful view
As soon as the sun sets, I begin missing you
Walk on the grass when it’s covered with dew
And try to guess what I want to say to you
A special relation here’s a little clue
Walking hand in hand, just me and you
I want to look at the sky and think of you
But the clouds act as an obstacle and block the view
I throw pebbles in the stream filled with shades of blue
And every single splash reminds me of you
Everyone says, it’s obsession that I brew
But I negate their idea and say,
My affection is everlasting, it’s true, it’s true!

My family

My family is the best
They always say, “get good marks in your test.”
My father loves to wear a suit
My brother buys boots
My mother cooks good food
My entire family is very cute.

Spring manifestations

Spring reflects through nature
The beautiful side of life
Spring reflects through flowers
The delicate side of life
Spring reflects through thorns
The difficult side of life
Spring reflects through birds
The singing side of life
Spring reflects through the gardener
The struggling side of life
Spring reflects through flower pluckers
The selfish side of life
Spring reflects through grass
The fresh side of life
Spring reflects through man
The happy side of life
And God reflects through spring
The sweetest side of life.

My new pets

My brother bought a pair of ducks
One I named Tom
While the other was named Jerry
Their colour was yellow and black
So soft and cute were they
They always waddled in our way
I kept them in a small bucket
As they were small
But pretty soon they grew big and tall
Together all three of us have a ball
My ducks eat wheat grains
They love it when it rains
I love my pets
They are the best.

King of the world

Place after place
Country after country
The bush fire continues to spread
Conquering it all, and burning it all down
Causing all fear and dread
And leaving behind shattered remains
Hesitant are all to follow
But no voices rose higher than the wind
Bound are they by their king — the king of the world
Letting the fire go far and away
Watching as the bush fire continues to spread
The sparks flying high
Scorching innocents as they run for shelter
But they can’t find any
As all are blinded by the smoke
That thickens each with every passing moment
The king is amused
Laughing at the clamour caused by him
Praising himself for having the power
To cause the effect
This great wild bush fire is still aglow
Its height continues to grow.

Thank you God!

When we see around
There are so many blessings to be found
The little stars in the sky
And the birds which fly
The sweet green grass
The beautiful flowers
God provides us with sunlight
Which makes our day bright
Then the time for rest is also there
It is called the night
When there is no light
And even that feels so very right
These are the miracles of God
The beautiful mountains and seas
The fruitful green trees
The cool and warm weather
The birds with beautiful feathers
There is beautiful scenery
So we should thank God for everything
That he made for us human beings
Thank you God!
