MUSIC: Let go

Avril Lavigne is making it big with her noticeable punk attitude. Her debut album ‘Let go’ belongs to the pop-rock mainstream. Avril is just a 17-year-old girl from Canada. ‘Let go’ showcases 13 cool songs and a bonus track that are all worth listening to.

The first song Losing grip sounds intense and feverish with a lot of bass-guitars. Complicated starts off mellow to slowly get you into that trance but that done, it jumps out and grabs you. This is followed by Skater boy which is a love story about a skater boy and a girl who’s a ballet dancer. The song is quite witty in style.

Genre wise the album is a total school punk with a lot of Linkin-Park kind of riffs that certainly sound slick. I’m with you and Too much to ask are the two fluffy numbers that describe Avril’s loneliness. Then comes

Mobile which is another swooning but exciting track.

Fortunately unlike other pop rock artists, Avril does not like to swear much. She doesn’t do it even where there may be a need for it. Her song, I don’t give a damn is the height of profanity by her.

My personal ‘Let go’ favourites are Things I’ll never say and Tomorrow which have incredible vocals. The album comes to its conclusion with Nobody’s fool which might help you doze-off a little. ‘Let go’ is guaranteed fun so you won’t be wasting your money on getting .
