To the joy of millions of fans around the world, this movie was finally released last month. Considered by millions throughout the world as the greatest adventure ever told, J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is the story of a grand struggle between good and evil over the iniquitous ring, which belongs to the dark lord, Sauron.
At the end of The fellowship of the ring, following the death of Boromir (the human warrior) and Gandalf (the white bearded wizard), the fellowship splits up in three groups, each member no less resolute than the other in his heroic mission.
The two towers begins in the hills of Emyn Muil, where Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Austin) discover that they are being followed by a mysterious creature, Gollum (Andy Serkis). Gollum, once a ring-bearer too promises to help the two lost hobbits on the condition that if he guides them to the black gates of Mordor, they would release him.
Across middle-earth Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), the elf Archer Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and the dwarf Dimli (John Rhys-Davies) encounter the besieged Rohan Empire, the king of which has fallen under the lethal spell of Saruman due to the manipulations of his sinister advisor Wormtounge (Brad Dourif). Aragorn finds himself drawn to King Theoden’s beautiful niece Eowyn (Miranda Otto), but is also aware of his love for princess Arwen (Liv Tyler). Gandalf (Ian McKellen) reborn as Gandalf the White, reminds Aragorn of his destiny to unite the Rohan Empire with the only remaining monopoly of human resistance — the Kingdom of Gondor.
In their parallel journeys, the fellowship faces incredible armies and dangers while also witnessing the enormous strength of their people. Together they must stand against and destroy the powerful forces spreading from the two towers — Orthanc Tower in Isengard which belongs to the evil Saruman who has raised a lethal army of orcs and uruk-hais and Sauron’s fortress deep within the dark lands of Mordor, at Barad-d{r.
With incredible visual and special effects, backed by strong acting performances from the whole cast, this movie is a must watch.
