The Cinderella story gets yet another makeover in Maid in Manhattan. Jennifer Lopez plays Marisa Ventura, a determined single mother who is working at making a better life for her young son and herself. She works as a housekeeper in Manhattan’s first-class Beresford Hotel.

While at work, one day, a spoiled socialite asks Marisa to return some designer clothes for her. While the woman is away, Merisa tries on some of the clothes before returning them to the store. Christopher Marshall, an aspiring US Senator and one of Manhattan’s most eligible bachelors sees her in those clothes. He is immediately attracted to Marisa. Assuming her to be a hotel guest, he asks her to join him for a walk in the park.

Despite the obvious attraction between them, Marisa is unwilling to encourage Christopher. But he pursues her, even though it might compromise his political career. But I don’t want to spoil everything for you by telling you what happens next. You’ll have to watch the movie to find that out.
