Hi kids!

Happy New Year to you all! Though it’s a bit late, as the year is four days old today, but this is the first issue of this year and it’s never too late to greet or send warm wishes.

As the last sun of the year sets and the dawn of the new year breaks, we all make several resolutions for the upcoming year. We pledge with sincerity to keep our resolutions, but as time passes our efforts start waning and many of our resolutions are forgotten. For instance, you promise yourself that you will watch less TV or spend less time on your computer and pay more attention to your studies but after a few weeks or a couple of months you are back to your old routine. Or you resolve that you will help your parents in daily chores like cleaning your room and getting the grocery but it’s never done. Your mom reminds you of your resolution and you start finding excuses. Your resolutions are never kept. You never realize that you had given hope to others and while breaking your promise you have not only deceived yourself but also broken the hearts of those around you who care for you and want to see some change in you.

You think that it is only you who is going to be affected and it is no one’s concern whether you keep your resolutions or not. But you are wrong! You are not alone; you have a family and friends and, as they say, man is a social animal and cannot live an isolated life. All his actions affect those around him, directly or indirectly.

So make your resolutions judiciously, i.e. only resolve what you think you can do. And when you make a resolution try your best to keep it. Repeating and breaking the same resolutions year after year reduces their significance. Moreover, nobody will trust you any more, no matter how sincere you appear to be. So don’t lose your credibility and stick to what you resolve.

May God bestow all His blessings on you, and the new year bring you happiness all the year round!
Have a nice weekend!
Bye!
Ed
