The handbook Sayings of Quaid-i-Azam, Mohammed Ali Jinnah can certainly be accredited as a good reference source. It contains selected post-independence speeches and statements made by the great leader along with dates and references to when and where they were delivered.
The book is compiled by Rizwan Ahmed, a scholar and writer known for his research on Quaid-i-Azam and the freedom movement. Ahmed has written over 1,000 columns on the subject.
The need for such a book was felt greatly in the early seventies when sayings of the Quaid were being broadcast without references. Apart from sounding incomplete it caused too much of a confusion. Now many, including research students, can benefit from the deluxe edition, which covers more than 30 topics.
The words of wisdom addressed to the nation, particularly the youth, bring forth the Quaid’s desire to see his people elevate to higher positions in life by gaining the fundamental qualities of good humans.
Another thing which deserves mention, is the addition of a brief and comprehensive chronology of the Quaid’s life. The book has been sufficiently supplemented with photographs and a few letter excerpts written to him by Iqbal. It also carries a detailed essay on the Quaid, which provides deep insight about the enormity of his greatness as a person and as a leader.
The handbook has been published by the Quaid Foundation and the Pakistan Movement Centre.
