System speed
Question: I have a P3 with a 733MHz processor. However, the startup screen as well as the Properties of My Computer shows the power to be 368MHz. Also, the system’s efficiency and speed has decreased a great deal.

Editor’s reply: Over time the computer gets slower because of the decreasing space in the hard disk, the OS losing its initial settings and files, new software using a higher amount of ‘processing power’ and the normal wear and tear.
As long as the Bios screen displays the correct processor and power, it does not matter what Windows displays.
To increase your OS speed, I suggest that you completely format your hard disk. If that is not feasible, you can turn off all ‘Startup’ software (type MsConfig and go to startup Tab), un-install any software that you do not use, or increase your RAM to at least 512MB.
The problem may also be due to a recent update from Win98 to WinXP and your system not be having the minimal requirements to run the OS. In this case I suggest that you revert back to Win98.

1. Google’s AdSense is the best program around, since it does not require any minimum traffic to your website. However, you can also visit http://www.affiliateguide.com/.
My personal favourite is Amazon’s associate program http://associates.amazon.com. The best thing about this site is that it generates a long list of books and CDs and other products (based on keywords on your site) and displays them on your site.
Not only does this make your website look more interesting, but its interface is the best one yet, with one click taking the visitor directly to the destination.

Dumping memory
Sometimes my system starts dumping the physical memory. How do I solve this problem?

Memory dumping can be caused by a number of things, but I suggest that you first check if your memory sticks are seated correctly. Open up the case and make sure the memory sticks are pushed in firmly.
You may also want to run a test on your memory from one of the many test utilities around (search Google). I also suggest that you take these memory sticks to a friend’s PC and test them out and see if you get the same results as you did on your system. Also open up your PC and see if it needs to be cleaned up from the inside.
Installing Windows
What is the easiest process to install Windows98? My system is a P3 with 128MB RAM.

Boot your computer from a Win98 Boot CD. Select “Run the Win98 Setup Automatically” or “Boot Computer with CD ROM Support” as either should work. In case of the latter, type Setup as soon as you see the command prompt. Win98 Installation will start automatically.
Essay website

My personal favourite is www.wikipedia.com. It does not feature essays, but has a collection of some of the best writings on every conceivable topic. You can try this out by searching for random topics.
PDF format
How can I fill (edit) a PDF document and then save to my computer? I have tried PDF to Word converter, but it effects the quality of formatting.

PDF is a format for output and review, not a source format intended for editing, including filling out questionnaires. Thus you can only do minor changes in it, such as:
— re-typing some text with the text-touch-up tool in a software like Adobe Photoshop;
— move text or graphics, but only on a per-line basis;
— change font face, size, colour for (part of) a line of text;
— delete graphics with the object select tool;
— insert a new line of text: Control-click with the text-touch-up tool.
For all major editing, you should go back to the original source document and afterwards recreate the PDF output. However, since you do not have that, you can try www.solidpdf.com.
A better option however would be to take a print of the form, fill it out manually and than get it scanned.
Connection problems
I have a P3 with a 750MHz processor and 128MB RAM. My modem is Intel (Ambient) V.90. But I am not able to connect to the internet. I reinstalled my modem but to no avail?

Your problem can range from issues with your modem to software like bad drivers, to a problematic phone line.
