QUESTION: What is Spyware? Is there some way to find out whether someone is sending virus to my PC?
makkah_571@yahoo.com
EDITOR’S REPLY: Spyware is a generic term for software that get involved in Data-mining, aggressive advertising, Parasites, Scumware, selected traditional Trojans, Dialers, Malware, Browser hijackers, and tracking components. All of them have the potential of causing harm to your system.
You can do a Virus Scan on your PC. Chances are if your anti-virus software is updated, no on will be able to send a virus your way.
For complete protection you should use a good anti-virus software and keep it updated. Use a Firewall like ZoneAlarm 6.0 and scan your system often with software like AdAware SE and SpyBot. You should also update your OS often with the latest security patches and never open files from senders you don’t know.

You could try www.apniisp. com. Regarding your second query, you could use Power Mp3 WMA Converter, which is designed to convert MP3 WMA WAV OGG APE audio files from one format to another. It can also rip CD to MP3 WMA WAV OGG APE audio files.
Download it from www.cooolsoft.com. RAM problems
I have a Pentium 3 Gfxell main board with a 667 MHz processor and 196MB RAM. Whenever I install Windows XP the system slows down. What could be the problem?

Your problem might be the minimum RAM which XP requires. Check your motherboard’s VGA RAM and if it’s less than 32 MB, then get a Graphics Accelerator (if your motherboard supports an AGP Slot) or upgrade your motherboard to one that does have 32 MB VGA onboard.
Downloading games
I have recently downloaded some GameBoy games. But when I try to extract them, the system says there are no such files. If I try opening them it says that the compressed (ZIP) folder is invalid or corrupted.
How can I solve this problem? Also, please recommend some good sites to download GameBoy Advance games and their emulators.

You can try updating your Zip Software (Winzip 9 from www.download.com), but most likely your files are corrupted and nothing can be done about it.
You may download the emulators from the following sites:

Trouble with encrypted files
I have been using Win XP with NTFS and had all my documents encrypted. Now that I have reinstalled Win XP, I’m not able to access my previous documents. I am also not able to add users for the encrypted files, despite being the administrator.

NTFS has a strong focus on security which, when coupled with WinXP can lock down the contents of your disk. The Encrypted File System (EFS) feature of the NTFS system on Windows XP allows you to seamlessly encrypt your data. You save and access this data as you normally would. When it’s written to the disk the data is then encrypted.
Trouble begins when the system crashes or is just slow and you decide to format and reinstall Windows XP. Let’s assume that C:\ holds your Windows and you had another partition E:\ which had some of your encrypted files.
If you didn’t back up your certificate then you are in deep trouble because you won’t be able to access those encrypted files. Most people don’t know that they also have to back up their encryption certificate when using XP with NTFS.
There’s not much you can do, unless you have set up a recovery agent.
Deleting websites
While surfing, I came across a match finding website. The address got stored in memory, and now when I log on to any website, my JPEG receives a number of unsolicited pictures and publicity messages. How can I delete the unwanted website addresses from the memory?
