AT the Microsoft Executive Summit 2003, held in Paris, Pakistan was represented by a high-profile delegation which included Aamir Chaudhry, Member IT, Central Board of Revenue (CBR), Government of Pakistan; Brig (retd) Mukhtar Ahmed, Secretary IT, Government of Sindh and Sultan-ul-Arfeen, Chairman, Arfeen Group of Companies. Jawwad Rehman, Country Manager, Microsoft Pakistan, led the delegation.
Mr Rehman said, “The group of senior executives from Pakistan were warmly received by Bill Gates who inquired about the scope and development of Information Technology in Pakistan. He was particularly interested to know how Microsoft would be able to extend its technology support and assistance to the Government of Pakistan and other companies in the country.”
In the MS Executive Summit, top executives from 150 organizations across Europe, Middle East and Africa Region participated. It was a good platform for the Pakistani delegation to build a good rapport with visiting executives as well as to enhance the country’s image in the international community of well-known organizations, says a press release. — Dawn ScienceDotcom Report
