This website details the life and work of Nikola Tesla. Tesla is responsible for many of the things we consider normal today, from the invention of Alternating Current motor and the use of AC current in the power grids (before that, Edison used DC current only) to the invention of high power transmission and the Tesla Coil. Radio and TV would be impossible without a mini Tesla Coil inside the sets, commonly known as “coil”.
Despite the title, this is pretty neat science regarding magnetic levitation. The fact that the frog really does fly, is proof that all things, even living things, can levitate if they are placed in a magnetic field, millions of time stronger than the Earth’s own. A full explanation of the phenomena is given as well as appreciation for the frog who contributed to science as it floated in a magnetic field that is 16-teslas strong. The frog was not harmed in any way.
A very large site with many articles on history and explanations on all kinds of meta-physical phenomena that most of us dismiss as nonsense. Yet, it is fun to read, and at least the historical parts of the stories do make you wonder if there is more to phenomena like UFOs, telepathy, moving things with your mind, etc. than we have been led to believe.
This page (part of a larger website) makes us see how electronics has changes over the years. Old advertisements for electronic and electrical components are featured that do not exist any more, like valves. It is very nostalgic for lovers of old equipment as well a great reference on how society has progressed so quickly.
