This season’s look comprises movement, creativity, inventiveness: loose curls and flowing waves. Sassy, messy and layered hair is definitely in, writes Ayesha Akif
Due to excessive power breakdowns and fluctuations many straightening irons have stopped working like other electrical gadgets in houses. Under normal circumstances this would have been terribly upsetting and a horrible thing to have happened –– but it doesn’t make any difference this summer.
Stiff, flat-ironed, straight hair not only look boring, with the air thick with humidity, straightened hair starts to look floppy, flat and limp in minutes. This season’s look comprises movement, creativity, inventiveness: loose curls and flowing waves. Sassy, messy and layered hair is definitely in.

The idea is to have layered and multi-length, undone and casual hair styles. If you have natural wave in the hair, you couldn’t have been luckier. To get that lived-in, messy but eye-catching look, apply mousse or styling cream to towel-dried hair. Let it air dry for stunning free-flowing waves. Do the same if you have curls.
To plump up straight or lanky hair try wearing it in a braid during the day, and then release them for soft curls or tie it up in a messy bun. For the evening, hair accessories can also add an element of glamour.
The weather is changing. Resorting to the ever fashionable ponytail isn’t a bad idea at all. Mess up your hair, rough it up, and sweep into a ponytail. Easy-going, simple and manageable, it goes well with all kinds of hair.
Very long, equal length hair has become history. Bangs have found their way back in and the younger set of females are definitely opting for them for a while.
As brown eyeliner replaces the black for the summer, lighten up your hair colour to match the look. You don’t necessarily have to hit the salon for this. Comb lemon juice through your hair, give it some sunlight then wash and get going! Have fun with your laid-back, rich hair this season.
