Oozing harmony

This week Gloria Celeb visits a house which exudes warmth and harmony and a garden that gladdens the heart

As one walks into the passageway of Kausar Naseem's house, a feeling of nirvana seeps into the soul. A lush green lawn with blossoming flowers warmly welcome anyone visiting this beautiful abode. The terrace, too, boasts an assortment of flowers and shrubs.

Looking towards the side of the garden, one finds an extremely eye catching fountainhead tucked away in a corner, the design of which is very different from the usual fare. Made of stone, it gives the impression of a huge urn kept in a corner. A nice mix and match of rockery and plants makes that particular patch come to life.

The interior of the house is as exquisitely designed and decorated as the exterior. A lovely runner adorns the main entrance that is also decorated with a very unique flower arrangement that adds colour to the setting. On entering the drawing room one finds a lmix of beige, brown and gold interiors that ooze comfort.

One can't help notice the perfect tube roses made by Naseem herself. As opposed to the light hues of the drawing room, a completely different colour palette can be observed in the dining room. Here the furniture is rich black and the upholstery a deep maroon. The maroon rug, too, blends with the room. Cabinets that hold China and crystals are also in shades of black.

Moving out of the dining area, the TV lounge again is a blend of style, taste and utility. Comfortable and cosy, it is sure to help one unwind after a tough day. Almost every section of the house is adorned with rugs.

As one climbs up the wooden stairs an entirely new setting opens up. This area houses another lounge and a small kitchenette that has bright colours. The children's room is towards the right and is as colourful as it can be. The flooring here is of wood.

A very warm and well-kept home, it speaks volumes of the interest that have taken in it. A home in which everything, from the plants outside to the furniture within, are in complete harmony.
