Home-made beauty recipes based on herbs and natural ingredients help improve the skin and hair disorders. They help in providing natural oil and moisture to the skin and hair. Follow these methods and see the difference.
Hair care tips
*Mix five tablespoons of olive oil with two eggs. Apply thoroughly to hair. Wrap head with plastic cover or a shower cap. Rinse well after 15 minutes.
*Mix two tablespoons honey with three tablespoons of olive oil. Apply thoroughly to hair. Cover hair with plastic wrap or a shower cap. After 15 minutes wash and rinse well.
*After shampooing the hair, pour one cup fresh lemon juice or vinegar through hair, massage and then rinse with water. Apply your usual shampoo and wash with water. It will remove all the dirt and your hair will become shiny. Do not repeat this method before two weeks.
*Blend fenugreek (methi) seeds soaked in water overnight. Massage this paste on scalp and hair and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash it off with a mild shampoo. This paste is good for all types of hair problems, such as dandruff, falling hair, thinning of hair, baldness and split hair.
*Mix one tablespoon of herb (according to your hair type) with half a bucket of boiling water and let it stand for half an hour. Add 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar and mix well. Shampoo your hair. Pour the mixture over hair repeatedly. Vinegar will seal the hair cuticle.
*For shining hair mix juice of a fresh orange, a cup of water, one tablespoon honey and a few drops of sandalwood oil. Rinse after shampooing.
*For damaged hair mash a ripe banana with a few drops of almond oil and massage into hair. Leave for 15 minutes. Rinse with soda water and then shampoo and apply conditioner.
*For dry hair mix one tablespoon of honey in half a cup of full cream milk. Massage on the scalp and leave for 15 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo.
*For falling hair eat a protein-rich diet including green leafy vegetables, carrots, mangoes, dried apricots, whole-grain cereals, sprouts and lentils. The following mixtures can be used to treat falling hair:
1. Make a paste by mixing olive oil, honey and cinnamon powder. Massage on scalp and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. Repeat three to four times a week.
2. Make a paste by grinding fenugreek seeds with water. Massage on scalp after oiling the hair and leave for one hour before washing. Repeat every morning for a month.
3. Make a paste by mixing two eggs, two tablespoons each of amla, reetha and shikakai powder. Massage on scalp and leave for 30 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. Repeat three to four times a week.
4. Drink daily alfalfa juice with fresh spinach or fresh coriander. This will help your hair to grow fast.
5. Massage almond oil on scalp two to three times a day. This will stop hair loss.
*For split hair, oil your hair twice a week with coconut oil mixed with fresh lime juice.
*For frizzy hair, rinse after shampooing a mixture of one tablespoon of honey and a litre of water. Use it after every hair wash.
Herbs that can be used according to hair types
For general hair care: rosemary leaves, nettle, burdock root and elder flowers.
For dry hair: chamomile flowers, nettle, elder flowers.
For oily hair: lemon peel, peppermint and lemongrass.
