I WAS very impressed by the article ‘Matka’ irrigation (TR, June 26) written by Zahrah Nasir.
She gave a completely new, interesting and inexpensive idea for conservation of water, and to save gardens, by telling the readers about this ancient system of irrigation.
But one thing left me confused. She wrote in her article that the matkas should be cleaned after every four to five months, but she did not make it clear how they should be cleaned when they are buried in the ground up to their necks. Can she let her inquisitive readers known how to go about it?

The wedding planners
HATS off for your cover story on wedding planners (TR, June 26). I am about to get married later this month and was going out of my mind about how to manage the entire event. Luckily, I got hold of a copy of your magazine and my troubles were partially solved.
I don’t have an inflated budget but I am sure that I will be able to manage something on a small scale.
Judging by the way they do it on a professional basis, I’d say the price tag more than makes up for the effort. The cover story has come at the right time as well, since the wedding season is just picking up. Keep up the good work.
