Grapevine has it that actress Ameesha Patel will be tying the knot with longtime beau, director Vikram Bhatt later this month. Ameesha has been trying to wind up a few of her films, before heading off for a month-long break. She has also become extra-selective about her roles. An insider source adds that Ameesha is very excited and is looking forward to the big day while Vikram too is trying to wrap up the shooting for his film before the commitment.
Though Ameesha was unavailable for comment because of her shooting in London, Bhatt laughed the news it off claiming that they are only rumours. “I don’t know why some people are in such a great hurry to get us married! I have no idea why or who is spreading them. As a director, I will not be affected by these, but it could harm Ameesha’s career. These rumours seem to be malicious in intent and are being spread by someone who’s obviously not too happy with Ameesha’s progress. At the moment her career is her priority and I respect that.” He adds, “We are not ashamed of our relationship. When we get married, we will let the world know.” — Dawn /The Times of India News Service
Saif Down Under
An actor in India is featured on a stamp only ‘’when he’s dead’’ jokes Saif Ali Khan. But Australia seems to do things differently. Recently, the country released a 50 cent stamp with Saif being featured on it.
Saif bagged this honour at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne where he performed. The stamp shows him in a green outfit along with other dancers. But what is interesting is that he has been chosen instead of Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukherji who also performed at the ceremony.
Saif jokes, “This shows that I have overshadowed Ash and Rani.” He feels “people in Australia are perhaps not even aware of us. I was chosen because it was a nice photograph. But more importantly, I was performing at a ceremony which is big for the Australian government. They are just promoting their country by
