Designs on drama
With more and more models opting for acting, it’s just a matter of time before we see the ramp queens more frequently on the telly than the catwalk. Sunita Marshall in the new production Aashna is one such case in point, though her histrionic talents have a lot to do with producers frequently approaching her to sign on new projects. The gal is quite an actress, a fact only too obvious by the play being aired on a private channel these days.
Sunita plays a businesswoman in Aashna, and a very well-dressed one at that. Her wardrobe has been designed by none other than Moazzam Abbasi comprising soft hues and slim cuts from his new collection. But according to Sunita, she will be wearing other designers as well such as Nomi Ansari, “Initially, Moazzam did my entire wardrobe, but now I’ve begun to wear stuff by other designers as well,” she says when contacted.
The play has made headlines and judging by the way things are, one can safely assume that Aashna is going to serve as another feather in Sunita’s acting cap. — Sa’adia Reza
