On the night of January 20, at the Royal Palm Country Club (formerly known as the Railways Golf Club), Lahore, the mood was definitely festive. The event was Hasan Shehryar Yasin’s Rouge Soiree to mark five years of success since the designer made his entry into the world of high-profile fashion.
There were other reasons to cheer as well; for apart from celebrating his triumph at the LSA and the success of the HSY label, what made the evening special was the launch of his designer jewellery collection.
In line with the event called ‘Red Evening’, all the guests were asked to wear something red. As the evening softly melted into a nippy night, the red carpet entrance of the Royal Palmers Bar displayed a steady stream of celebrities congregating to rejoice with the designer. Maheen and Kamiar of Karma were there; so was Mehdi wearing a red sweater and a golfer’s cap; and then there was Mian Salli amidst a host of lovely young ladies, the usual bevy of models dolled up by Shehzad Raza, Iffat Omer, the Lahore elite as well as guests from elsewhere all in high spirits.
The six-minute show displaying HSY’s jewellery line was short, sweet and spectacular. Eman Ali, Misha, Neha, Nattie, Mehreen Syed in black evening gowns flaunted the classy collection comprising gemstones set in alluring designs. Vaneeza Ahmed looked the epitome of elegance in a blood-red evening gown with rubies and diamonds around her neck in a classic setting.
The designer was prolific in voicing his feelings at the end of the display. He paid tribute to his mother who was present at the occasion. HSY also pledged to bring Pakistan’s name to the forefront in international fashion.
Later, the crowd partied late into the night with some of the best DJs in attendance flown in from Karachi.
