Victory at last
Saeed Rizvi, the man who brought us such classic sci-fi hits as Shanee and Talismi Jazeera, has pulled off a victory of sorts. The veteran producer was recently ‘elected unopposed’ as Chairman of the Pakistan Film Producers’ Association. What makes the victory especially sweet is that Mr Rizvi recently emerged from a nasty legal battle.
Now that all of that is behind him, one hopes he can do his two bits for improving the lot of Pakistan cinema. Hopefully, he’ll steer clear of current trends, or will we now see Buddha Gujjar in Space? Let’s keep our fingers crossed.—Tyrannus
