Aaroh rocks Bollywood

Aaroh’s Kami and Nabeel rocked Mumbai recently when they launched their maiden venture — film Rakht’s title track — in Bollywood.

The track has been sung by KK and composed by Nabeel and Kami. It was performed live in Mumbai in front of more than 1,000 people from the Indian film industry. According to the film’s hero Sanjay Dutt, “This is one of the best title tracks I’ve ever heard in Indian cinema.”

Considering the recent success of Pakistani popsters, let’s see how Aaroh fares in the land where filmi music is king. —Omair Alavi

A new mag in town

Strings’ Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood get featured on the cover of the very first issue of a new men’s magazine, MR (Men’s Realm). Men’s fashion had always taken the backseat in Pakistan, but not anymore it seems.

With almost all designers, new and old, churning out men’s fashion with the same frequency as that of women, what was needed was a platform to showcase the local trends in menswear. It is no big secret that most of the local fashion magazines, except for a few, are wary to tread in this domain. But now, the wheels of change seem to be turning in the right direction. —FAQ
