Masala in the mall

By Roxanne

A glitzy affair staged in Islamabad on July 1 was a well-received event, even though there were a few hiccups, such as electricity failure and the usual late start.

The main attraction was the Lifestyle Statement Fashion Show, choreographed and arranged by Rezza Aly Shah and executed by the super models from Karachi and Lahore.

Sarah Gandapur, the main designer, is based in Lahore and for the evening she showcased her line of ensembles. The other segment comprised ready-to-wear stuff and accessories from the retail outlets of the hip and happening mall that has just recently opened its doors for business.

The models were in topnotch form and Natasha Hussain alias Nattie looked stunning, opening the segment with her lilting moves. Nadia Malik also made her presence felt, while Rubab also cast a spell. Sophia Khan, a relative newcomer, sashayed with confidence and class. The boy brigade appeared sleek and smart.

Make-up artist Jugnu did a good job and all in all, the high-profile launch of the 7th Avenue Hypermart was an affair that will not be forgotten for some time to come.
