EXCERPTS: A year of change
This document is a selection of news items related to Afghanistan published in eight Pakistani English language newspapers during the year 2001. Selection has been made from more than 36,000 published items. The focus of the selection is on women, children, refugees, human rights, disaster response and people and society at large. Though developments related to politics and the military struggle have not been omitted altogether, these are more or less treated as background information.
