PESHAWAR: Unidentified militants on Tuesday attacked the house of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate for NA-1, Zulfiqar Afghani in Gulbahar area in Peshawar using a hand grenade but inmates remained safe as it exploded on the roof of the house.

Police personnel and Zulfiqar Afghani said that the bomb exploded on the third floor of the house with a big bang creating panic in the area.

No damage to any life or property was reported.

“It’s a cowardly act to sabotage the election as some time back the ANP leaders were targeted and now they have started targeting us,” Afghani said.

"I have no enmity and have never even carried any weapons in my life, so it's very clear that whoever is targeting political workers wants to derail the democratic process but we will not get afraid.”

Kya ANP, MQM. and PPP after election is over, the elected members from these political parties, are going in assemblies OR not? It looks that Mujeeb and Bhutto 1970, period is repeating again and what will be the use of such election? PPP + MQM + ANP expected members are no less than 150. including PMLQ the members will rise to 200. Kya Punjab will turn in to " NEW PAKISTAN " IK & PMLN will rule only Punjab, " NEW PAKISTAN " Meray moun main khak aesa na ho, the present situation is exactly the same of 1970. ECP and Judiciary is soft on one side and hard on the other. Ye tmasha ECP aour Judiciary kub khatam karay gi. OR a military coup is the only solution and the fate of lovely NATION.

Don't we have tactical nuclear weapons? Lets get all the innocent men, women, children, old, young and non combatants out of Waziristan and nuke the rest of them. Especially the non pushtoons and/or foreigners. - Khatum Shudd.

Sorry, my friend, this 'menace' will never be rooted out from Pakistan --- because a vast majority of Pakistanis, though unhappy with day-to-day violence, do unfortunately possess the same parochial mindset as the Taliban!
