Baloch nomads

Published April 14, 2013

THIS is apropos of the article ‘The Baloch electoral enigma’ (Sunday Magazine, April 7). A considerable bulk of the Baloch population follows a nomadic lifestyle, a tradition perused by the people of Balochistan since the Mehrgarh era (7,000 BC) when domestication of animals commenced for the first time in human history in this part of the world.

Let us hope that the ECP and Nadra should ensure that they are not marginalised or discriminated against in the exercise of their right to vote.
