The Fourman Show is a comedy programme that has consistently done well. While the argument that our younger lot of satirists should try and go beyond mimicking politicians holds waters, sometimes they come up with such a startling gag that it leaves you in stitches.

Recently, The Fourman Show had a skit in which a creative company boss is holding a meeting trying to think ways to give a boost to their products. The entire conversation of the five men centred on just one word: Bahlul. Mind you, Bahlul is a character from a Turkish serial who is supposed to be very famous among Pakistani audiences.

The Fourman team kept taking his name, making fun of actors Faisal Qureshi and Humayun Saeed who had recently objected to Turkish television plays being shown in Pakistan. They kept harping on that word in every sentence culminating in the act when one of the characters, holding his tummy as if in pain, says he has been holding back Bahlul for quite a while and now needs to let go of it. It was some gag, man!
