LAKKI MARWAT, April 10: Chief of his own faction of JUI Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said his party does not believe in ‘purchasing’ loyalties of voters. He claimed that people will vote for the party as it had a clear agenda of enforcing Sharia in the country.

This he said while launching his election campaign at a public meeting in Dallokhel on Wednesday. Others who spoke on the occasion included JUI-F aspirant for PK-76, Lakki-III, Munawar Khan Marwat and party’s district chief Maulana Abdul Rahim.

The JUI-F chief said: “Our political opponents are in a bid to purchase loyalties of voters or get their support by raising the slogan of braderi.” He said the rival political groups would soon realise that people had no respect for them because they always ditched them after taking votes. He said residents of the district will vote for JUI-F candidates in the coming elections as they were ‘in favour’ of implementing Sharia laws in the country.

He said despite small representation in the parliament the JUI-F always played key role to ‘stop’ formulation of laws ‘against’ the injunctions and teachings of Islam.

Mr Rehman claimed that during the MMA regime his party served the residents of southern districts especially Lakki Marwat by spreading a network of uplift schemes. He asked the people to compare the performance of MMA with the other provincial governments and then decide which party to vote.

He called upon the workers to accelerate masses contact campaign and work hard for ensuring the victory of party candidates in the general elections.
