LAHORE, April 9: The Drug Free Lahore project has laid off 10 non-government organisations for their poor performance in anti-drugs activities in the city.
The decision was taken at a project meeting with its director Altaf Qamar in the chair at the Regional Directorate of the Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab in Lahore Cantonment on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by ANF Force Commander Brig Shahid Afzal, Project Manager Syed Nadeem Abbas, the social welfare director general and DGPR director news.
The meeting reviewed performance of non-governmental organisations associated with the Drug Free Lahore project and decided to disassociate itself from 10 of them because their performance was not up to the mark. The meeting decided to engage four new NGOs in the project. —Staff Reporter
