LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday disposed the dual office case against President Asif Ali Zardari over the assurance of the President’s counsel Wasim Sajjad, that no political activities will take place at the President House, DawnNews reported.

The Chief Justice in his remarks welcomed the implementation of the court’s order.

The bench headed by Chief Justice of LHC Umar Ata Bandial was hearing the case.

President’s Zardari counsel Sajjad and the Attorney General appeared in court.

While giving his justification, Sajjad said that President Zardari has resigned as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson and requested the court to dispose the case.

The Chief Justice remarked that the president’s decision reflects the importance of the Constitution and rule of law.

The court disposed the case on the assurance of the president’s counsel.
