THIS is apropos of the letter ‘Lal Masjid report’ (April 28) in which the writer absolved Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf of all charges and heaped the whole responsibility on the so-called Taliban.
Musharaf ruled the roost for about nine years, but the decisions taken under his patronage have proved so devastating for the country that now the chickens have come home to roost.
The drone attack issue is in reference.
The current phenomenon of suicide attacks in Pakistan began after the adventurism of Lal Masjid. Later he admitted the folly of messing up this case.

There was no suicide attack in Musharraf time. It happened after Musharraf resigned. If you could give a date and some proof then I can understand it.

For the 'anti musharraf' paper & people..... suicide attacks actually began in 2002, so please get ur facts straight.....they escalated after Lal Masjid, but a year later the current govt was in place
Also u feel that if they attack us we should just sit on our hind & do nothing...... 'Zulum karnay wala aur sehnay wala......' & as far as I am concerned..... people who hide behind masks & cant stand up to fight like a man should be dealt with in a similar manner

It's incorrect to state that suicide bombings started after Lal Masjid operation; it was ongoing long before. It was right-wing parties and their mouth organ in media who made it a point that hundreds of people including girls and women were killed in the operation. Lal Masjid commission report denies killing of any girl/women. Out of 106 people killed, most were those who refused to vacate the premises. What else state can do to establish its writ wherein Pak army commandos were also martyred in the operation.

the latest report ( by the comission reporting to supreme court ) published in newspaper ( daily jang ) clearly states lal masjid links to taliban .
further they were asked to leave the premises on loud speakers and were given enough time to follow directions, but instead their leader molana tried to escape in Burqa???????? if he was clean why he didnot come out and proved himself ?????? what SCHOOLS keep enough weapons to fight with the army ?????
musharraf is a great administrator , he didnot mess up anything , its the lal masjid administration who is responsible for the situation. suicide attacks started way before the lal masjid operation.

This actually goes on to proof that they were/are terrorist ... and Musharraf was right in launching operation aginst them, and Aslam bhai "we donot negotiate with terrorist...."

Too many Pakistanis, including Imran Khan, seem to think that Pakistan should have allowed itself to become a terrorist haven. The moral depravity and intellectual poverty behind this view is mind-boggling.

Wouldn't it be so nice if the extremists did a collective communal suicide and left the rest of peace loving Pakistanis alone? This way the suiciders can go straight to Janat and the survivors can live on miserable earth.
