IT is well-known to the National Transmission and Distribution Company that the national grid has been sectionalised into four sectors, starting from Hubco to Jamshoro, Jamshoro to Mazafargarh, Muzafargarh to Mangla, and Mangla to Tarbela, respectively.
After tripping of the Hubco power plant, why was the Hubco and Jamshoro section not isolated and why was the entire load shifted to Mangla and Tarbela without realising their generation capacity?
The inquiry committee should look into the aspect. Later, they shifted the load in phases after restoring the supply from Tarbela and Mangla. The committee may also fix responsibility so that repetition of such incidents can be avoided.
