LAHORE, Jan 24: The National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council of the Higher Education Commission has planned carrying out on-site accreditation visits of more than 30 different agriculture disciplines to accredit about 60 degree awarding programmes at over 10 agriculture institutions of higher education in the country.

The NAEAC is assessing agriculture programmes with a process that involves institutions to carry out their SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to enable them to self-appraise their programmes and participate in the evaluation process along with the council.

The council has already carried out on-site visits of about 120 degree programmes at different agriculture institutions of higher education in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to improve the quality of higher education, enhance the capacity of institutions and upgrade physical infrastructure to achieve and sustain academic excellence.

The council early this week conducted an on-site visit of Accreditation Inspection Committees to degree programmes at University College of Agriculture, Dera Ghazi Khan. — Staff Reporter
