WITH the death of Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Pakistan has lost a leader of national stature. Qazi Sahib was a multi-dimensional personality. Although he belonged to a particular political organisation, he enjoyed a very good relationship with all political and religious parties.

His services in bringing sectarian harmony to the country need special appreciation. Qazi Sahib belonged to a very noble and educated family from a small village of Nowshera district. Through his hard work and God-gifted talents he attained the status of a distinct religo-political leader who believed in moderation, unity among Muslims and modern education.

As a human being he had a pleasant and attractive personality. He was very dynamic and full of energy despite undergoing heart surgery twice. He was sincere to his cause and a true Pakistani. I had the pleasure of knowing him. I condole with the bereaved family and pray to Allah to bless his soul.
