THE discovery of Reko Diq copper and gold project was recently discussed in a TV programme. Viewers were told that the person who discovered the huge copper and gold deposits is at present engaged on contract as a section officer in a ministry.

Surely, he deserves to be decorated with a national award worthy of his talent, dedication and real hard work in those difficult working conditions. He is, perhaps, one of those Pakistanis who does not carry any political affiliation or sifarish.

In order to encourage others, the discoverer of Reko Diq must be decorated with the highest civilian award.
