LAHORE, Dec 21: Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood is likely to take oath of the office of Punjab governor early next week.

President Asif Zardari had on Thursday offered the post to Mahmood, who resigned as the PML-Functional Punjab president after accepting the offer.

Meanwhile, the president called Governor, Latif Khosa in Karachi to discuss the matter.

Talking to reporters at the Governor’s House on Friday, Khosa said he was a PPP worker and accepted the leadership’s decision wholeheartedly. He said he would continue to serve the party as a loyalist.—Staff Reporter
