KARACHI, Dec 12: The National Database and Registration Authority will set up an executive office at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry for the convenience of Kati members and industrialists.

This was announced by Sindh Nadra director general Jawed Iqbal Khan at a meeting with the Kati office-bearers and members on Tuesday.

He announced registering of Kati nominees as ‘attester’ for national identity card forms. He said the executive office would be opened at the Korangi Industrial Area with Kati assistance.

He said Nadra had decided to help KATI members as a special case. He said ‘smart card’ introduced by Nadra was a third generation document having as many 36 security features.

Mr Khan said the voter list had been computerised as it had gone into the data bank already. He, however, said the next elections after five years would be computerised.

President of the All Karachi Industrial Alliance Mian Zahid Hussain said that over 200,000 people worked in KIA and a Nadra office was very much needed there.—PPI
