ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday claimed that the federal government led by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had not only alleviated food shortage but had also improved the farmers’ conditions, DawnNews reported.

Speaking at an event of the Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), the prime minister said the PPP government had made the country self-sufficient in food. Pakistan has become an exporter of wheat, he added.

He further said that the critics of the PPP-led government had forgotten that the party had governed Pakistan for five years with 144 seats. He assured that the upcoming general elections would be free, fair and transparent.

Prime Minister Ashraf moreover vowed to eliminate terrorism from the country and said the current government had controlled the problem to a great extent. He added that along with a government’s mistakes, a government’s achievements should also be highlighted.

Mr. PM, there was never a shortage of food but all you people did is helped suppliers in maintaining monopoly and fiddle with the supply/demand to cause the price increase. You people are still the incompetent flocks as 5 years ago.

PPP has been in power on four occasions and on each time they have caused more damage to Pakistan. PPP had a role in dismemberment of Pakistan had they accepted Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman as majority leader situation would have defused, then came nationalization of schools, businesses, banks and worse of all rampart corruption was introduced when Zuliquar Ali Bhutto was the Prime Minister. Benazir Bhutto became Prime Minister twice and on each occasion things became worse, now again PPP is the ruling party and there is no relief in sight but more corruption and also scandals of different types. Wake-up Pakistani's before you loose you motherland because of corrupt politicians.
