The National Institute of Health (NIH) is going to be given under the administrative control of the Ministry of Regulations and Services, Dawn has learnt.

Since devolution of the federal ministry of health under the 18th amendment in April 2011, the National Institute of Health has been working under the Cabinet Division.

An official close to the development said the much-needed move had come at a time when the federal government was planning to strengthen the health system, including the disease early warning system, across the country.
