KARACHI: Five ships carrying containers, chemicals and edible oil were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and steel coil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Hanjin Elizabeth, Maersk Kalamata, Nedlloyd Barentsz, Thor Independence, Genius Star II, Chem Road Rose, Al Soor II and Amagi Galaxy, were busy in loading/unloading different commodities.

A cargo volume of 130,808 tons comprising 90,975 tons of import and 40,233 tons of export was handled.
